Root of Life
Scholars have known for ages that one of the greatest mysteries of this universe lies in the shape of the spiral. It encompasses everything, from the huge galactic spirals of stars and planets, to the veins in our body and the neurons that make our minds. The spiral, itself, is the root of all life. This earring embodies this perception and idealizes it, as the main spiral departs to other spirals, ending with the gemstone in a full round circle, which is life itself.

Saturn stud earrings
The Saturn stud encompasses one primary form, the Ouruboros. The Ouruboros is the ancient snake, sometimes portrayed as a Phoenix, and in ancient Egypt, the scarab, or the dung beetle, was its portrayal. It symbolises the endless regression, the constant renewal, the nature in its cycles. Life, followed by death that brings life anew, forever. In the words of Plato, this symbol is the manifestation of the first creation – "The living being had no need of eyes because there was nothing outside of him to be seen; nor of ears because there was nothing to be heard; and there was no surrounding atmosphere to be breathed; nor would there have been any use of organs by the help of which he might receive his food or get rid of what he had already digested, since there was nothing which went from him or came into him: for there was nothing beside him."
